Whiteman Osterman & Hanna LLP (WOH), the Capital Region’s largest law firm, is pleased to announce that Michael Sardo has joined the Firm as a Partner in its Health Care Practice Group. 

Mr. Sardo focuses his practice on representing clients in the independent living and assisted living sectors of the long term care continuum. He advises health care providers and organizations on a wide range of transactional and regulatory matters, including business acquisitions and dispositions, commercial leasing, and borrower side financing transactions such as loan consolidations and debt refinancing.

Mr. Sardo brings significant experience handling complex health care transactions across multiple jurisdictions. He has represented purchasers in the acquisition and financing of senior housing portfolios, including transactions completed through court ordered receiver sales. He has also represented buyers and sellers in the acquisition, disposition, and financing of licensed private pay and Medicaid senior housing facilities throughout New York, New Hampshire, Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, and Kansas. 

In addition, he has served as local regulatory counsel on numerous New York assisted living transactions, advising clients on structuring deals in compliance with applicable statutory and regulatory frameworks. This diverse background provides him with a broad transactional perspective that enhances his work on sophisticated health care matters.

Mr. Sardo earned his Juris Doctor from Albany Law School. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, Politics, and Law from Binghamton University, where he was also a member of the university’s wrestling program. He is admitted to practice in New York State and the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York.
