LOU LEWIS JOINS WHITEMAN OSTERMAN & HANNA AS SENIOR COUNSEL

Lou Lewis, the founder and former senior member of Poughkeepsie-based Lewis & Greer P.C., has joined Whiteman Osterman & Hanna LLP, the Capital Region’s largest law firm, as senior counsel. Lewis’ former firm is closing; two of its attorneys joined WOH as partners in November.

Lewis will continue to work out of the 510 Haight Ave. space that housed the Lewis and Greer offices in Poughkeepsie; he will also spend some of his time at WOH’s Albany office located at One Commerce Plaza.

He has practiced law in New York State since 1969 and is a past president of the Dutchess County Bar Association and a former trustee of Marist College. Lewis’ law practice focuses on litigation, real estate, and tax certiorari law.

“We are pleased to have an attorney who has the depth and breadth of experience that Lou Lewis does join us as senior counsel,” said Robert Schofield, managing partner at WOH. “Our clients and our attorneys are certain to benefit from his wisdom.”

A member of the Dutchess County Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, American Bar Association, and New York State Association of School Attorneys, Lewis earned his bachelor’s degree from Marist College and his law degree from New York University.
