From Warehouse to Community Hub: Whiteman Osterman & Hanna LLP Helps Launch Mixed-Use Hudson Depot District Project

Partners Charles Gottlieb and Daniel Hubbelll and the Whiteman Osterman & Hanna LLP team played a critical role in facilitating the Hudson Depot District project, working closely with clients Baxter DevCo, Anderson Design Group, and Galvan to bring this transformative development to life. Leveraging the expertise of the firm’s Environmental and Land Use and Development team, they provided guidance on complex zoning, land use, and municipal law matters, ensuring the project complied with all regulatory requirements and advanced smoothly through the approval process. Our team also obtained economic development incentives from the local IDA and handled the construction financing. This collaborative approach allowed the team to address potential challenges early, setting the stage for a successful, community-focused development.

The project repurposed the site of a former warehouse, which was demolished to make way for the Hudson Depot District's modern, mixed-use facilities. This approach eliminated the need to disturb untouched green space, aligning with sustainable development practices and reducing the environmental impact of the construction. The innovative use of previously developed land reflects the team's commitment to balancing economic growth with environmental responsibility, creating a lasting benefit for the community.
