Whiteman Osterman & Hanna LLP, the Capital Region’s largest law firm, has announced that Larenz M. Devaren has joined the practice as an associate in the firm’s Business, Corporate and Commercial Practice group. In his new role, Mr. Devaren will advise borrowers, financial institutions, and other lenders on a wide range of corporate finance transactions.

Prior to joining Whiteman Osterman & Hanna, Mr. Devaren was an associate in the New York offices of Brown Rudnick LLP, where his practice focused on representing corporate clients, lenders, and funds in a wide range of complex financings involving a broad variety of assets and types of business and capital market transactions. He was also responsible for drafting and negotiating commitment letters, term sheets, fee letters, secured and unsecured credit agreements, security and pledge agreements, guarantee agreements, inter-creditor documents, legal opinions, promissory notes, payoff letters, officer’s certificates, resolutions and closing documentation relating to various credit transactions.

Mr. Devaren holds a Bachelor of Science in mathematics and economics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He graduated from Columbia Law School in 2020 with his Juris Doctor. 

Mr. Devaren resides in Troy, NY.
