Whiteman Osterman & Hanna Attorneys to Present at the Association of Towns 2017 Training School & Annual Meeting – February 19 – 22

Whiteman Osterman & Hanna attorneys are scheduled to present at the upcoming Association of Towns of the State of New York’s 2017 Annual Training School & Annual Meeting to be held on February 19 – 22 at the New York Marriott Marquis in New York.  Partner, Daniel Ruzow, presentation is entitled “Managing Bad Behavior at Public Meetings” and will discuss the concept of civility, define disruptive behavior, and present options to town officials to help increase civility and deal with bad behavior at public meetings.   Attorneys David Everett and Genevieve Trigg will present on the topic of “County Planning & Zoning Referrals A to Z” and will provide an overview of the referral and review processes required by New York State and use case studies to highlight such other considerations as constitutional and procedural issues.  Partner, John Regan, presentation is entitled “Ethics and the New York State Commission on Public Ethics” will tell you how to navigate the new Joint Commission on Public Ethics (JCOPE) disclosure rules and how they impact municipalities, review the changes in ethics rules and regulations over the past year, and discuss how best to ensure that your town or organization follows the rules and files the right paperwork.  To learn more about the Association of Towns Annual Meeting, please click here.
