Terresa Bakner and Rob Rosborough Present at Association of Towns Conference – February 16
Terresa Bakner and Rob Rosborough recently presented at the New York State Association of Towns Conference on the Municipal Review of Religious Projects. The presentation focused on the municipal review of religious projects and the special requirements that apply to such projects under New York State and federal laws. Case law imposing and interpreting these requirements were covered in depth with a particular focus on recent cases involving challenges by religious institutions to land use decisions by planning boards and zoning boards of appeal. Methods for ensuring that boards accommodate religious uses as required by State and federal statutes and past judicial decisions were also discussed.
