Whiteman Osterman & Hanna Continue Philanthropic Efforts with Capital Pledge to the Legal Aid Society of Northeastern New York

From the beginning, Whiteman Osterman & Hanna have been dedicated to philanthropy, particularly as it relates to the interests of our communities here in the Capital Region. One of our greatest philanthropic efforts has been in support of the Legal Aid Society of Northeastern New York, to whom we have recently made a capital pledge of $25,000 for their Center for Civil Legal Services campaign.

This campaign is a response to the growing demand for urgent legal services needed by low-income clients. To better accommodate the needs of the community, the Legal Aid Society of Northeastern New York (LASNNY) is relocating their offices from the current location at 55 Colvin Avenue to a larger facility at 95 Central Avenue in Albany. The new location will house 47 offices, several consultation rooms, a large conference and lecture space that can hold up to 75 people, and an additional 6,000 square feet in the walkout basement. Most importantly, the new location will be more accessible to clients, and closer to many community partners and resources.

Whiteman Osterman & Hanna’s support of the Legal Aid Society of Northeastern New York dates back to the firm’s founding in 1975. Aside from financial support for LASNNY, attorneys from our firm have been involved with the Justice for All campaign and Attorney for a Day program. Our attorneys will continue their support with this campaign, both financially and through pro bono work.

To date, $1.36 million of the LASNNY’s campaign goal of $1.85 million has been raised.
