Compensation Range: $28.85-$43.27/hour
Whiteman Osterman & Hanna LLP’s Estate Planning and Administration Practice Group is seeking a well-organized, numbers-oriented, team player to join its team at our Corporate Woods location. The ideal candidate will have prior demonstrated experience as a Trusts and Estates Paralegal, or as a Trust Officer, Tax Preparer, or in another relevant professional field.
The Role:
- Work closely with attorneys and clients to assist with all aspects of the estate and trust administration process
- Prepare Surrogate’s Court filings related to the probate of wills and appointment of fiduciaries
- Assist in transferring assets, including working with financial professionals and clients to complete transfer paperwork
- Prepare asset inventories and judicial and non-judicial estate and trust accountings
- Prepare estate tax returns and related projections
- Monitor estate and trust administration progress and calendar internal and external deadlines
- Perform administrative tasks with supporting staff
Skills for Success:
- Very strong organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel
- Familiarity with accounting and tax software and concepts
Required:
- College Degree, paralegal certificate, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 1 year experience as a Trusts and Estates Paralegal, or as a Trust Officer, Tax Preparer, or in another relevant professional field where they gained experience in administering estates and trusts. While we are willing to train the right candidate, it is our strong preference that applicants understand basic trusts, estates, and Surrogate’s Court concepts
