Nicole L. Clouthier
Nicole Clouthier is a partner in the Firm’s Estate Planning and Administration Practice Group where she concentrates her practice on preparing customized estate planning documents for clients and administering lifetime and testamentary trusts and estates after an individual passes away.
Ms. Clouthier has a diverse client base ranging from newlyweds and new parents, to established professionals and retirees looking to minimize estate taxes and protect their assets to transfer wealth to younger generations.
Ms. Clouthier recognizes that each client is unique and has a different set of planning needs. With that in mind, her goal is to develop a long-term relationship with her clients in order to implement a plan that addresses their individual needs and circumstances. A large part of her practice is dedicated to advising high net worth individuals on wealth transfer, estate and generation skipping transfer tax planning, and charitable giving.
Ms. Clouthier is admitted to practice in New York State and is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Capital District Women’s Bar Association, and the Schenectady County Bar Association.
Ms. Clouthier holds various leadership positions for the New York State Bar Association, including Member of the Trusts and Estates Law Section’s Executive Committee; Co-Chair of the Digital Wills Committee; Vice-Chair of the Membership Committee; and the 4th Judicial District Delegate to the House of Delegates, the bar association’s governing body.
In addition to her professional activities, Ms. Clouthier is a Co-Chair of Leadership Tech Valley, a highly regarded initiative of the Capital Region Chamber that provides skill development and community immersion experiences for the region’s emerging leaders.
Ms. Clouthier is a frequent lecturer on the topics of Estate Planning and Administration and often speaks at Continuing Legal Education seminars for the New York State Bar Association, Practicing Law Institute, and the Schenectady County Bar Association.
Ms. Clouthier received her Juris Doctor from St. John’s University School of Law and her Bachelor of Arts degree from Siena College.
