Nicole L. Clouthier
Nicole Clouthier is a partner in the Firm’s Estate Planning and Administration Practice Group where she concentrates her practice on sophisticated estate planning, estate and trust administration, and estate tax planning.
Nicole has a diverse client base ranging from young professionals and new parents, to established executives and business owners looking to minimize estate taxes, protect their assets, and transfer wealth to younger generations.
Nicole recognizes that each client is unique and has a different set of planning needs. With that in mind, her goal is to develop a long-term relationship with her clients in order to implement a plan that addresses their individual needs and circumstances.
Nicole is admitted to practice in New York State and is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Capital District Women’s Bar Association, and the Schenectady County Bar Association.
Nicole holds various leadership positions for the New York State Bar Association, including Member of the Trusts and Estates Law Section’s (TELS) Executive Committee; Chair of the TELS Membership Committee; and the 3rd Judicial District Representative to the section.
In addition to her professional activities, Nicole is the former Co-Chair of Leadership Capital Region, a highly regarded initiative of the Capital Region Chamber that provides skill development and community immersion experiences for the region’s emerging leaders. Nicole chaired the program from 2021 to 2023 after graduating from the program in 2016 and dedicating 3 years to the steering committee from 2017 to 2020.
Nicole is a frequent lecturer on the topics of Estate Planning and Administration and often speaks at Continuing Legal Education seminars for the New York State Bar Association, Practicing Law Institute, and the Schenectady County Bar Association.
Nicole grew up in Niskayuna, obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from Siena College where she played Division I soccer, and received her Juris Doctor from St. John’s University School of Law. Nicole now resides in Saratoga County with her husband, Brett, and two children. When not at work, you can find Nicole at the hockey rink or soccer field cheering her children on from the sidelines.
