Whiteman Osterman & Hanna’s Removal and Deportation Defense Meets Growing Local Demand

With an unprecedented local increase in enforcement activity by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) based on the Trump administration’s shifting enforcement priorities, Whiteman Osterman & Hanna’s removal and deportation defense services provide a local option for representation of detainees subject to ICE enforcement action.  Historically, options were limited for representation of these detainees, with most being transferred to immigration detention facilities in Batavia, New York. Given the dramatic increase in ICE enforcement activity locally, most recently in Saratoga County, the Firm recognized the need to supplement its strong business immigration and family-based practice to include removal defense and immigration litigation representation.

Removal and deportation defense also supplements Whiteman Osterman & Hanna’s growing Agriculture Practice, which incorporates immigration as a major component. Farms have traditionally been a target for enforcement due to the perception that many farms employ migrant labor, and Whiteman Osterman & Hanna represents many agricultural enterprises that will benefit from this added practice. The Firm assists and advocates for individual foreign national clients in navigating through the complex maze of removal proceedings, including orders of supervision and representation through immigration court proceedings, developing creating strategies and remedies along the way.  Additional immigration services include Asylum Applications, Withholding of Removal, Removal Proceedings, Applications for relief from removal, Board of Immigration Appeals, and other forms of relief.
