Whiteman Osterman & Hanna seeks current 1L (Class of 2028) J.D. students to apply for our 2027 Summer Associate program, with limited spots also available for 1L students in our 2026 program.

The Whiteman Osterman & Hanna LLP Summer Associate program provides participants with a wide variety of challenging projects and assignments that offer a realistic view of law firm life and work. The 10-week program will provide broad exposure to our 19   practice areas. You’ll receive assignments from and work alongside Associates, Of Counsel, and Partners, with opportunities to attend client meetings, depositions, court proceedings and other experiences, based on your area(s) of interest. Additionally, we’ve curated a full slate of events across the Upstate New York region, highlighting the extraordinary cultural and recreational opportunities that building your life and practice here will provide.

As a Summer Associates, you’ll be supported by mentor(s) who provide guidance, offer advice, and share their expertise. Supervising attorneys will provide you with informal feedback on your work throughout the summer, and formal feedback at the conclusion of the program. Summer Associates who perform at a high level throughout the summer may be considered for an offer of full-time employment upon graduation.

Compensation: $2211.00 Per Week
