2012 Saratoga County Planning and Zoning Conference – January 25, 2012

imageTerresa Bakner, a partner at Whiteman Osterman & Hanna, presented at the 2012 Saratoga County Planning and Zoning Conference at the Saratoga City Center on Wednesday, January 25, 2012.

The presentation was entitled “How State and Federal Historic Preservation Laws Affect the Municipal Site Plan and Subdivision Processes.” This presentation discussed how cultural resources, including prehistoric native American artifacts and historic buildings and remains, can present special challenges in project review. Topics included when archeological investigations are necessary, how tribal consultation may delay project review, and the State and federal agency processes for regulating these resources.
