Safeguarding the Public Water Supply: How to Prepare for and Respond to Public Water Contamination Concerns

Terresa Bakner, Scott Fein, Jean Gerbini and Robert Stout recently presented, in conjunction with the Association of Towns, a free seminar on the topic of public water contamination and municipal response options.  The seminar entitled “Safeguarding the Public Water Supply:  How to Prepare for and Respond to Public Water Contamination Concerns” was held on Friday, June 10 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Albany.  The main topics of discussion included how to assure the safety of the public water supply; notifying the public, state and federal agencies; addressing the contamination in stages; funding a response; and state and federal responses.
