Stacey M. Barrick
Associate

Stacey M. Barrick joined Whiteman Osterman & Hanna LLP in November 2006. Her practice focuses primarily in the areas of education, labor and employment, and litigation. Prior to joining the Firm, Ms. Barrick worked as an associate for Bartlett, Pontiff, Stewart & Rhodes, P.C. in Glens Falls, New York.

Admissions and Affiliations
Ms. Barrick is admitted to practice in all state courts in New York and the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York.

She is a member of the American Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, New York State Women’s Bar Association and Saratoga Bar Association.

Ms. Barrick also serves on the Board of St. Catherine’s Center for Children and the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York. She also coaches the mock trial team at Emma Willard

Representative Accomplishments

    • Representation of school districts in Section 3020-a, Section 75, and arbitration proceedings
    • Representation of public and private sector employers in discrimination litigation in federal and state court, as well as in front the New York State Division of Human Rights and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

    • Conducted workplace investigations and provided reports and recommendations on matters involving employee misconduct and discrimination.

    • Lectured on employment and education law topics, such as, unlawful discrimination, employee discipline, employee investigations, public and private sector employee layoffs, drug and alcohol use in the work place, and use of technology in school districts.

Education
Ms. Barrick graduated from the University of Albany cum laude, with a Bachelor of Science in biology. She was awarded a Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Albany Law School of Union University, and at graduation, was elected to the Justinian Honor Society. While at Albany Law School, Ms. Barrick served as Associate Editor of the Albany Law Journal of Science & Technology.

Ms. Barrick externed for the Honorable Thomas J. McNamara, Court of Claims, State of New York, during law school. She also completed an internship at the Albany Law School Health Law Clinic.
